The bachelor of Education is the full time two years programme designed to make reflective and professional practitioners in the field .The course are intended to provide a conceptual understanding of relevant concepts and processes in teacher education and also situate them in the broader perspective of education and development. At CRSCE, the transaction of the course is done using a variety of approaches, such as tasks and assignments,project,group discussion,seminar,interaction with community based project and cultural environment . These help student in developing society and personal competence through their exposure to the real educational problems and analysis of the cases and regular visits.

The basic objectives of the course are -

  • To develop competencies and skills needed to become effective teachers.
  • To understand the self and others, one’s beliefs, assumptions, emotions and aspirations, develop the capacity for self-analysis, self-evaluation, adaptability, flexibility, creativity and innovation.
  • Develop habits and capacity for self-directed learning, have time to think, reflect, assimilate and articulate new ideas, be self- critical and to work collaboratively in groups.
  • Engage with subject content, examine disciplinary knowledge and social realities, relate subject matter with the social milieu of learners and develop critical thinking.
  • Develop professional skills in pedagogy, observation, documentation, analysis and interpretation, drama, craft and reflective inquiry.
  • To promote social cohesion, international understanding and protection of human rights and other day to day awareness.
  • Enable the perspective teachers to understand the nature, purpose and philosophy of secondary education.
  • Develop among teachers an understanding of psychology of their pupils.
  • Enable them to make pedagogical analysis of the subjects they are to teach at the secondary stage, develop skills for guidance and counselling.
  • Enable them to acquire competencies relevant to stage specific pedagogy, curriculum development its transaction and evaluation.
  • Enable them to foster creative thinking among pupils for reconstruction of knowledge.
  • Acquaint them with factors and forces affecting educational system and classroom situation.
  • Acquaint them with educational needs to special group of pupils.
  • Enable them to utilize community resource as educational inputs.
  • Develop communication skills and use modern information technology for school purpose.
  • Develop aesthetic sensibility.
  • Acquaint them application of action research.
  • Develop awareness about role of education in building up a democratic and socialistic pattern of society.

Admission to B.Ed. course will be made as per norms laid down by NCTE and government from time to time. A joint entrance exam is conducted for B.Ed. by any one university of Uttar Pradesh on rotation basis every year and eligible candidates are sort listed on the basis of merit list.

The performance of the candidate appearing in B.Ed. examination will be evaluated as follows-

  • 1. The evaluation of B.Ed. pupil teachers will be done in 1400 marks. The division will be awarded separately in theory out of 900 marks and in practical out of 500 marks respectively.
  • 2. The theory part in all the papers will be evaluated through a system of university examination as per its practice and routine.
  • 3. Evaluation procedure in sessional work and practicum will be as follows:

    a. Viva-voce examination of 200 marks will be conducted by the board of examiners on the basis of student’s sessional work.

    b. Internal marks in each subject will be given by subject supervisors.

  • 4. For teaching skills marking purpose, a board of three examiners comprising one as convener of concerned permanent department and two examiners from other teacher training department of CCS University. All the three examiners will assess students separately and average of total sum of marks will be final score in teaching skill out of 500 marks in both years.

    These will be based on the two main subjects or the main and one of the ancillary subjects in the case of graduates and the subject offered in post-graduation which should be the same as in graduation except in the case of those who have offered the fundamental subjects like philosophy, sociology or MA (Education).
